The Ryder Cup
Ryder Cup 1987 was played in Dublin, Ohio. Europe had a great team this year with stars like Faldo, Woosnam, Langer and Ballesteros. On the first day, Europe took the lead 6-2. Nick played alongside Ian Woosnam the first day. They won both their matches. In their first match against Lanny Wadkins and Larry Mize, Faldo and Woosnam were 4 down with 9 to play but then won 6 holes in a row winning 2/0. In the afternoon Faldo and Woosnam won over Hal Sutton and Dan Pohl with 2/1.

On the second day Faldo and Woosnam first played against Sutton and Mize and halved. Then they played against Strange and Kite and won with 5/4 after some great golf. Nick and Ian went 14 holes on 10 under par. Strange and Kite never had a chance. After the second day Europe had a 10,5 to 5,5 lead.

In his singles match, Nick played against Mark Calcavecchia and lost 1/0. The total score after the third day was 15 -13 to Europe. This was the first time ever the Europeans defended their title and was the
first time the European team won in the U.S.
